of life on Earth and re-establishing an ecologically healthy relationship between nature and culture.

The National Standards for Ecological Restoration - Edition 2.2
The Standards have been designed to encourage all restoration and rehabilitation projects in Australia to reach their highest potential.
The Society for Ecological Restoration Australasia (SERA) and 12 partner organisations* developed the national Standards over a 4.5 year period - carefully considering the needs of all stakeholders. The drafting process involved multiple drafts and two editions, collectively worked on by the partners in consultation with hundreds of key stakeholders including agencies, researchers and industry organisations and individual practitioners.
The recovery wheel and 5 stars rating system is a simple and effective tool to evaluate and present how a restored ecosystem is performing compared to a reference community. It is now available as customisable Excel table, and as interactive online and mobile app.
